Let me stress this: the computers in question in no way belong to our school. They our personal laptops we bought with our own money. When we ask our school tech guy to add a printer or something, he adds spyware software so that he can view and control our screens WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. He installs the spyware and regularly spies on what we are doing, over the internet or on our school network. The this is, THESE OUR OUR COMPUTERS AND HE IS INSTALLING SCREEN CONTROL AND PASSWORD MONITITORING SPYWARE WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION! He even deleted a game that my friend paid for because he had left it open the previous night and it was open at school. Could you please point me to a law prohibiting this kind of unauthorized monitoring action? thank you, Mr. anonymous schooler with computer skilzz
Is our school IT guy putting spyware on OUR PERSONAL COMPUTERS legal?windows
Talk to a lawyer.
NO, it is not legal to install remote control software without the owner's permission. There is a severe security breach where there is a possibility of identity theft........
I would wipe the computer clean and start over with your restore disk provided with your system.......or do a system restore, if possible to PRIOR to visiting the IT person......this will remove any installed software and put you back to how your system was before the malicious software...........
