How much electricity do 2 computers use?

I have 2 tenants who share my house. They both have computers which are left on all the time. This includes speakers, printers, and monitors. I can hear the fans running, and you can feel the heat coming off them. They say that turning them off somehow jeopardizes the security settings. They have cable connections. They leave the house for work and are gone for 10 hrs a day. Should I be concerned? How much electricity does this use?

In India its 240V per PC

you sud be conrned about ur electricity bills.
A typical PC uses around 300 watts for the main tower. The printer and speakers will use very minimal amounts of power since they usually aren't on, and don't need much power to run when they are on. A typical LCD screen usually uses less than 10 watts while asleep and around 50-100 watts while awake. A CRT monitor will use around 30 watts while asleep and 150 watts while awake.

Basically, each one probably isn't using much electricity while they're gone, since the displays and the PC itself will most likely be asleep for almost all of that 10 hour period. Most likely the two of them together are costing you around $100-$150 a year on your electricity bill.
The computer itself uses about 350W, the monitor probably about 50W, the speakers about 10W and the same for the printer. This totals between 400 - 450W per hour. In a day this means about 10KW each. You should be concerned - very concerned. You ought to have a pre-pay meter installed in their rooms. They would soon find that their security settings are not at all affected by switching off - what a line of old twaddle!! They're taking you for a ride.
