check if u have enabled LAN in ur pc's network connections.

connect your wireless modem (i assume it is a router too). connect laptop with other lan slot (rj45) or connect via wireless.

search for each others computer in the my networks.

this should help you a lot
Not really possible to answer without knowing more information.

If you're talking about the two of you connecting to the modem so that you can play a game (on a server outside of your LAN) at the same time, you'll need some sort of device (in this case, your wireless modem) that allows NAT (Network Address Translation). You probably can't do it if all you have is the modem supplied by your ISP.

You'll need a device like a firewall or WAP that you can plug both computers into, set it up to enable DHCP, and use NAT for connecting to the Internet.

If you just want to connect the two computers together, you'll need a crossover cable, and just plug them both in at the same time...or again a hub/switch.

Enjoy!
if it's just two computers you can use a 'crossover' cable

plug it straight in to both computers and the game will work on lan mode.

it's a ethernet or lan cable but the wires are crossed in such a way that allows the computers to talk to each other.
