I have both my computers attached via network cable but I can't figure out how to get them to talk to eachother or share files. I can't find any information about how to do this...should be simple right?... How do I set this up?...what settings do I need to change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How do I connect two computers to share files with using only a network cable attached to both?antivirus
You can't use an ordinary network cable. You will need to get what is called a cross-over cable. It looks like an ordinary network cable but it has it's send and receive wires crossed (hence the name). Check out the post below for details.

you need a cross over cable , and each nic card then has to be assigned a manual ip address so each pc can communicate with the other
there are plenty of sites on the net that explain this in detail
You will need a crossover network cable. Then you will need to set sharing up on at least one of the computers. I would make sure they are in the same workgroup to make it easier to see the share.
