How can i share the information between the computers connected in a LAN?

As soon as i click View Workgroup Computers it immediately displays Not Accessible.Sometimes if the Workgroup Computers are visible as icons i can not see thir shared folders

if you are using windows 98.... upgrade don't be a cheapskate.

if you are using windows 2000... check the firewall (you are using a firewall right??) see if you are broadcasting netbios info. right click on network neighborhood and choose explore every time (entire network often time isn't available if you are in my computer mode)

if using windows xp check the firewall... if you are using windows vista... yes. check the firewall. so long as they are on the same sub-net you will be able to have them talking to each other.

try to ping the computers whn ur computer is not sharable ...

the issue it cud be due to numerous reasons ...

OS problem

virus problem

ethernet card problem

cable /media problem

firewall /security setting issues

TCP /IP stack malfunctioning ....

Hardware problem ...

you might need to isolate the problematic area ...
