I usually go between two houses and I was wondering if it is possible to network the computers together even though they are not in the same building?
Is it possible to network computers across the internet?computer security
Wireless networking could make it possible. Just make shure that the range is long enough. or you coud try and get a REALLY long crossover cable and some how insulate it and get it into your other building!
Is it possible to network computers across the internet?free spyware remobal
Most of the answer say the same thing. Like it was mentioned - when you are on the internett - you are networked. The only difference is that you may have firewalls set up where people can't access your computer. When you network your computer you are opening up portals to allow the other computer to access files on your computer that may have the possibility of deleting or damaging important files. You can access your friends computer via Windows Messenger (granted if you both have XP) and allow that person's IP access to yours.
wireless router. remote access. done.
10 points please :)
Yes, you can do it using VPN (Virtual Private Network):

yeah.
Tons of software that allow you to do this.
Laplink is just one of them.
Google search and youll find alot.
The Internet *is* a network.
Just use your external IP where you would your internal if they were on your internal network. You will, of course, have to set up port forwarding if the server is behind a router.
u can make a virtual private network (VPN). buy two linksys routers, use static adresses, and read configuration manual carefully....
