I have a job with computers, I use them alot...

I do know that getting a degree in computer science helps if you want to do this kind of stuff. if you are more into web design and stuff like that art classes may be better. and really computer techs have to always be learning because things change frequently... and the people teaching it to you in school arent educated fully on more recent things. so as in the new windows system ... everyone outside of microsoft has to learn new things about it to become a master at it... so when will it be taught in school? awhile id suspect.

I have 40+ years dealing with computers. Your question is too broad, since almost all jobs these days deal with computers in some way.

If you are artistic, but organized, web design is a possibility. If you are really into detail and want to be in control, programming might be a good place. If you can see how computers work, AND how they relate to business issues, systems analysis is a great place to be. If you are a genius, totally creative, and see possibilities that others don't, AND can convince people of your ideas, a small technology start up would be great.

If you are disorganized, scatter-brained, and can't write a cogent sentence, computers are not the place to be.

For any kind of programming, in my opinion, Algebra is a great beginning, not because you need the math (most business problems can be solved with arithmetic) but because it teaches you to think logically. You might see if a local company that does computer work will take you as an unpaid intern for a while so you can be exposed.
